  1. Lower your targets. One of the best ways to feel motivated to exercise is to make sure that your targets aren’t too high. When you reach too high, you’re going to feel instantly switched off of working out if you can’t possibly attain your goals. Lower the target and make sure that you hit the goals better. Don’t aim to run a marathon. Aim to run around the block!
  2. Show up when you can. Sometimes, you don’t need anything motivating you to exercise; you just need to show up. Put exercise on your must-list and don’t make it an option. Make it a must. If you just show up, you’re bound to move in some way or another and you can make progress in inches and not yards.
  3. Break your movement up. Instead of focusing on an hour class in the evening, why not focus on 4 15 minute workouts? You can do squats in the morning, abs in the evening and go for a walk in between. Exercise is more achievable if the timing you use is bite size.
  4. Attach your workouts to something else. You can squat while you cook, you can walk with the kids. You could even get the kids involved in the workouts you want to do by having in-house discos and jumping around together.

Motivation isn’t always easy to find, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t. When it comes to moving your body, you should do whatever it is that makes your body feel good.
