The world is loving the idea of making time for yourself as a way of self-care, but how do you actually do that? Of course, it is one of those things that is easier said than done. Here are some ways that you can take some time for yourself and nurture your mental health.
Take a trip
Taking a trip away can be hard to do these days so you need to be smart about it. Using Prime Luxury Rentals and planning as much as you can to avoid any virus hotspots is a great way to ensure that you are making the most out of your trip. Remember, this trip is for you and your mental health. If doing day trips and seeing the sights is what works for you, do it. If you just want to lay in bed and catch up on the sleep you have missed, do it. You will need to be mindful of travel restrictions and other things that might have an impact on your travel plans.
Turn off your phone
Sometimes, we don’t need a trip away, we just need five minutes to ourselves to get our minds in check. If you find that you need a break but can’t get away for any length of time, turn off your phone. It could be for an hour, it could be for a day, whatever works for you. Just remember to switch it back on again and get back to what you were doing. Unfortunately, we can’t just throw our phones in the bin and go without them these days so try and find a way to balance using them. You might be surprised by how much you don’t use it and how much free time you develop when you have it put away.
Say no
It might be tempting to say yes to every event that comes your way but you don’t always have to say yes. Sometimes saying no is one of the best things that you can do, and we all need to learn how to say no a bit more often. If you would prefer to spend some time at home instead of going out, there is no reason why you can’t do that. Learn to find the balance between going out and staying in. It will make your time out seem better and you will enjoy yourself more.
Learn what you love
A lot of people find that they can’t get any joy from things because they don’t know what gives them joy. This can be a tough nut to crack but it is possible to discover new hobbies in your 20 and 30s. Don’t be afraid to try something new. Even if you hate it, you can say that you tried it and hated it instead of hating it for no reason. Learn what brings you joy and do it as much as you can. You could even end up doing your hobby as a job or side hustle.
