Thirteen-year-old Diana Louise is well on her way to stardom. She’ll debut her first single in January 2018 and has a tentative digital release date of April 2018 for her first EP album. The singer is also a Norwegian model and been selected to represent Norway as a Junior Model at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) to be held in Hollywood, CA in July 2018. The first demo of her song “Like a Model” was in December ranked No. 1 on ReverbNation in the national pop category and the artist has already built an avid social media following. Tell us a little bit about yourself, your journey and greatest achievements so far?
My name is Diana Louise and I’m a thirteen year old artist, model and influencer from Oslo, Norway. My journey started about a year ago when I was discovered by Diamanda Models through my sisters fb, whom I am currently signed with. Since then I’ve participated in the Norwegian Fashion Week and worked with numerous of brands, both in Norway and Internationally. With 19k+ followers on Instagram, we’ve grown my followers by 300% over the past year, and most of that has been over the past 4 months. I have a feeling that this year is going to be even better, as I am releasing my first single as a singer this month – which I am really excited about, and also I am currently preparing myself for The World Championships of Performing Arts, which is one of the biggest international talent shows with 60+ participating countries taking place in Hollywood in July. I am going to represent Norway as a Junior Model in three modeling categories: formal, casual and swimwear so I work out a lot these days to stay in shape. Not to be a bragger, but I am really proud of my achievements so far and I hope to inspire as many teens as I can to work hard and pursue their dreams.
Can you tell us a bit more about your release? What is it about and how did you come up with the idea?
The single is called “Like a Model” and the demo version of it was released back in December – in fact it was ranked #1 in the pop category in Norway on Reverb Nation. It is in a way more of a EDM song than a pop song. It’s based on my own experiences as a teen model, about having to deal with people that are trying to tell your what to do, haters and expectations from the society. It it’s also about being motivated and about believing in yourself no matter what. I’ve collaborated with an incredibly talented rapper from the US, Keybeaux, whom I got to know through my sister – his voice sounds a like Kanye West mixed with 2pac, in fact I loved it so much I made my composer remake the drop to include some samples of his voice that are very repetitive throughout the song. I will definitely continue to work with him and hope to release my first EP in the end of April 2018.
Who has inspired you in your life and why?
One of my biggest role models is my older sister Victoria, she has inspired me to set high personal goals and work hard to achieve them. She is incredibly smart and talented; thanks to her I am where I am today. Sometimes she can be a bit strict but I know it is for my best, now that she is also my manager I know that she expects a lot from me and although it is not always easy to meet her expectations, I really don’t want to let her down and always try to do my best. My parents support also means a great deal to me, they don’t know that much about this industry but they still support my decisions and let do what I love, which I am really grateful for.
Do you have any tips for other teens trying to follow your example?
Yes, I would say don’t be shy, don’t listen to everything people have to say and alway do what you believe is best for you. Be passionate about your dreams and what you believe and never give up. No matter how hard it gets, nothing is impossible.
