Incredible plants that we (should) use in our daily lives

Lavender – the queen of aromas. This magical herb is famous for calming the nerves with its soothing, floral tone. Our grannies used to dry it and then put it into little handmade, textile bags. They would put it in the wardrobes to keep the moths and other insects away from the clothes. It is also refreshing and keeps the stale smell of old clothes away. If you have lavender in your garden, pick it and put it in a vase until it dries. The room will smell nice for days and you will feel so relaxed, enough to play some free games for adults. Its oil works wonders because of its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Peppermint is widely used, both in medicine and cosmetics. With its sharp smell, it is helpful for the respiratory system and it works wonders for the sinuses. Most kinds of toothpaste and gums use it as a breath refresher because of its cooling effect. It is used in cremes and gels that cure swollen feet, arthritis and cramped muscles. It has antibacterial effects and it also works as the insect repellent. We use fresh peppermint when preparing foods, and a lot of refreshing cocktails contain this divine herb.

Tea tree is another plant that we should be so grateful for existing. It has a specific, sharp smell that might not be so appealing to everyone, but it does have great cosmetics and medicine usage. It is our best ally in fighting viruses, fungi and bacteria as it stimulates our immune system. Most facial cremes have tea tree oil as it works as an antiseptic, helping our skin fight acne, burns, cuts, fungal nail, etc.

Lemon – there aren’t enough words to describe it and all the usages it has found in everyday life. Everyone likes its yellow color, and the smell is basically unforgettable. Every girl who wanted to make their hair brighter naturally used lemon and it did work. Besides using the fruit in preparing foods and drinks, the lemon oil has been helpful in so many other ways. It kills bacteria so it is used in many cosmetic products. Its scent is a boosting and it works as an energizer, so you might be needing some hot cartoon games to chill. Lemon can be added to the shampoo, if you have greasy hair problems, as it will naturally reduce the bacteria on the skin and not damage it.

Olive oil is one of the most used oils in the world, especially in the Mediterranean part of Europe. We couldn’t imagine a lot of food being prepared without it. Most cremes, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and makeup use olive oil as it has multiple benefits for our bodies. It can be used as a makeup remover as well, as it soothes the skin and prevents premature aging with antioxidants, vitamins, antibacterial properties and moisturizing effects.
