Psychologist Dr Rick Hanson says that we can actually change our life by changing how we perceive things, and to do that, we need to train ourselves to create a habit of being happy, strong, fulfilled and content.
We all deal with negative emotions from time to time, no doubt there. We stress about over our boss, our jobs, people around us, and many other things. Sometimes it lasts few hours, but sometimes we feel tense for days and worry about the things yet to come. The fact is, many times in our lives we are the ones who are blocking ourselves from achieving goals and living life to the fullest. It is our brain that creates all the worry, stress, greed, hatred, jealousy, feelings of non-adequacy. And other negative feelings we all experience from time to time.
We just seem to be very wired to negativeness around us, we unconsciously create even more worry and stress that it was originally there. Some experience these negatives more frequently than others. The reason why they do take life events much more stressful than others is simply that their brain was operating on negativity. The secret to a happier life is in figuring out how to rewire our brain to help ourselves live the life we always wanted.
Psychologist Dr Rick Hanson says that we can actually change our life by changing how we perceive things. To do that, we need to train ourselves to create a habit of being happy, strong, fulfilled and content. Easier said than done, some of you might think. It is true that some people get more lemons in lives than a green market. But, the thing is, will they squeeze lemons in their eyes or make a refreshing lemonade. That is why Dr Rick Hanson talks about learning to train our negative brains to cool down a bit from all the hatred, stress and negativity. And bring more calmness and mindfulness in our daily lives.
The great thing is that we can actually learn to give power to positive things in our lives. And even in our darkest days turn to love and feel more inner peace. By practicing mindfulness, we learn to focus on the present moment, and therefore learn not to give too much attention to the future or the past. By focusing on the peace around us, we bring more inner peace to ourselves. And that is the key to a happy and content life. We can all rewire ourselves to positives around us, just as we learned to focus on the bad things and not even being aware of that. So focus on the present and be mindfull, be in the here and now and inner peace won’t be unreachable as it was.
