However, it’s still possible with a bit of practice and a few adjustments to your habits. Savor the food
One of the best ways to get to know the culture of the country you’re visiting is through its food. So, take a break from filling your backpack with snacks and simple meals, and enjoy some local food. You can ask the locals for recommendations, and don’t hesitate to treat yourself to an actual meal. You can also use that time to soak up the atmosphere or clear your thoughts. Either way, it would help you both relax and get to know the culture a bit better.
Limit your technology
As hard as this step can be, it’s extremely important. Tuning out all the technology-related distractions would allow you to focus on what’s going on around you. So, turn off your phone notifications, and resist the urge to check your email and social media. Unless you’re on a business trip, all of those things can wait until you return. It’s a huge part of being able to not just relax but actually take in every part of your vacation.
Don’t over-schedule 
When going on a vacation, especially a shorter one, people tend to overcrowd their schedule just so they could see as many attractions as possible. That’s a huge mistake. What good is seeing five or ten things in one day if you’re going to be too tired to appreciate them or even remember any details about them? So, instead of running from one place to another, prioritize what you want to see and do. Moreover, leave some room in between for lounging by the pool with your favorite women swim suit, for example. Plus, all the things you don’t see would give you one more reason to visit the place again.
Enjoy a spa day
There aren’t many things more relaxing than spending an entire day at the spa. This is especially a good idea if you’re traveling alone, as you’d save yourself the trouble of compromising. You could spend your day exactly as you want to, even if that includes seeing nothing except cucumber slices on your eyes. Moreover, it’s a great way to recharge your batteries so you can have more energy for the next thing on your itinerary. So, enjoy your freedom, and treat yourself to a long spa session.
Get your nails done
A great way to take a break from all the sightseeing is to focus on yourself for a bit. For example, you probably don’t have much time for doing your nails on vacation, but there’s no reason they can’t be pretty anyway. Not to mention that nails do tend to get broken at the worst possible moment – like on vacation. So, find good nail salons nearby, and get your nails done during your next break. It would give you an opportunity to relax and unwind, and you’re bound to feel much more confident with your new gorgeous nails.
Choose like-minded travel partners
Sometimes, the source of all the exhaustion can be your travel partner. If you’re going on vacation with a friend, it should be somebody who prefers the same pace, no matter whether it’s fast or slow. This way, you’d avoid disagreements, frustrations, and potential resentment. So, before you go on a vacation with your best friend, think about their habits – do they like walking really fast, going on foot everywhere, and overcrowding their schedule? If the answer is yes on any of those details, do yourself a favor and go with somebody else – or alone.
Going on vacation doesn’t have to be exhausting. If you plan your schedule according to your own needs, limit the use of technology, and choose the right company, you’d definitely have more time to rest. Plus, by throwing in a couple of relaxing activities, your bed will never again be the first thing you want to see when you come back home.
