CBD – or cannabidiol – is an active ingredient found in the cannabis plant. Recently, it has been added to oils, tinctures, creams, serums, powders, and just about anything else you can think of. There’s CBD isolate, CBD broad-spectrum, and CBD full spectrum products available for people to take. The main selling point of CBD is that it can be used to treat chronic pain, speed up recovery, and ease stress.

So, is it worth the hype?

At the moment, it seems as though CBD products are helping people with common health concerns. Many people use these products to get to sleep easier, while some use them to recover after workouts. But, you also get some people that see no benefits. Right now, it feels like one of those things you should try and see how you react to it.

Vitamin D supplements aren’t new, but they certainly rose in popularity and started trending in 2020 and 2021. One reason for this was the coronavirus pandemic, where reports suggested that high levels of vitamin D could help you fight the virus. So, is it worth the hype?

Absolutely. Our bodies can only produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, which can be a struggle for people in certain areas of the world. Also, this vitamin is proven to help your overall health, boosting immunity, improving bone health, and aiding your skin. This is definitely a daily supplement you should take if you don’t see much sunlight.

Iron

Iron is a key mineral that exists in our blood and helps red blood cells form. Again, it’s not a new supplement, but it is one that’s gained more popularity very recently. Effectively, taking iron supplements is said to help with chronic fatigue and headaches, giving you more energy.

So, is it worth the hype?

Yes and no. Iron supplements do work, but only in people with an iron deficiency. The problem with these supplements is that they can cause adverse health effects if you’re already getting enough iron in your system. Furthermore, most individuals can get iron from various food sources – like lentils, kidney beans, red meat, egg yolks, spinach, etc. Therefore, the supplements might work if you have an iron deficiency, but they aren’t really necessary if you follow a balanced diet.
