Coco Chanel, at one point of time, called Ritz Paris Hotel as his ‘home’ and she stayed there for almost 34 years. Today the Ritz on the Place Vendome has a beautiful 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom suite designed in her honour. There are also other suites that pay homage to her namely Charlie Chaplin and Chopin. But the Coco Chanel Suite has been in the news for its staggering tariff – GBP 15,000 per night!
Coco Chanel Suite
The Coco Chanel Suite is all decked out in a colour palette of black and white with shades of beige thrown around. The design and the colour of the Suite does echo the signature style of the legendary fashion designer. It is widely believed that after she declared Ritz Parish as her ‘home’, she even redecorated her room to suit her style. The Coco Chanel Suite pays a fitting tribute to this unique style.
The 2 bedrooms and 2 bathroom suite designed in her honour have an exclusive pad that starts from EUR 18000 per night. Believe it or not, on public holidays the list price rockets to EUR 40000 per night.
Karl Lagerfeld refurbishment
Coco Chanel originally lived on the 3rd floor of the hotel but the Suite that is named after her is located a floor below and covers a total area of 2024 sq ft. The Ritz underwent extensive renovations from 2012 to 2016 and the suite was moved to the 2nd floor during that time. The former Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, oversaw the refurbishment of the Coco Chanel Suite.
Chanel had once remarked that a girl should be both fabulous and classy. And it seems that KARL had applied this thought at the time of redesigning the suite. The larger rooms have high ceilings and follows a classic style all around. To make the rooms fabulous, there are glass chandeliers and gilded mirrors. The Suite is truly a class apart.
