The morning is seen as the freshest and most energized part of the day for most people, and so it’s worth ensuring our routine helps us greet the day positively. Well, a healthy morning is often dictated by the night before. Going to sleep at a regular time, improving your sleep hygiene, and waking up at a similar time can always help you wake up in the most clear-eyed manner, rather than hitting the snooze button over and over.
A morning is often where you “break the billiard balls” of your day, that is, how you begin this momentum will have impacts on how you operate and the opportunities you seize from then on. Perfecting your morning routine, then, can help you leave your home with a sense of purpose and encouragement, rather than lethargy and operating in “survival mode.”
In this post, we’ll discuss a few measures you can take not only to feel your best, but to look your best, and to “think” your best, too. Without further ado, let’s begin:
Stretching & Exercises
When we exercise and then stretch, we give our bodies the chance to warm up for the day ahead, and feel more energized. This doesn’t have to be anything major, some bodyweight warmups, or perhaps taking a small walk with our dog can be a nice thing to do. You might decide on doing a few yoga stretches on your yoga mat also – just to work out some of the kinks that can grow in our bodies otherwise.
Grooming & Cold Showers
It’s good to make sure that our morning routine is full of comforting grooming efforts, from using body butter to moisturize and smell nice, to practicing great skincare, to ensuring our hair is washed depending on its style and length. For men, a proper morning shave can work wonder too. We’d also recommend that if taking a shower, you turn the temperature to the coldest setting you can handle for 60 seconds. This helps refresh you completely, it sharps your perspective and helps you begin your day with all of your stress dissolved. It sounds quite uncomfortable, but once you get used to it you’ll never shower the same way.
Perfecting Morning Nutrition
Eating an excellent meal in the morning can help you get up and greet the day with strength and energy. This also helps when making sure you eat in a nutritionally-dense manner, such as enjoying the benefits of superfruits as you wake up. Avocado and berries can be a great start, perhaps the former on top of salmon with toast, or the latter with oatmeal. While breakfast should be eaten like a king, don’t overdo it and eat anything too heavy that leaves you feeling lethargic for a time. That can only make you feel tired and out of sorts.
With this advice, you’re sure to perfect your morning routine in the best way going forward. Who knows what the power of a well-met day could have over the course of the hours allotted to you?
