Everyone knows that it’s important to eat healthy foods and get enough exercise. However, that couch is just super tempting sometimes! It can be tough to get off of the couch and spend time getting into a healthy shape. However, you know how important it is so you’ve got to get up off of that couch and pry yourself away from the TV.

Of course, one of the first diseases that you are at risk for when you are a couch potato is heart disease. When you are a couch potato, your muscles are going to be burning less fat than they would normally. When you walk around and get off the couch, you are going to be burning calories and fat normally. When you don’t get enough exercise, you are going to be accumulating fat and calories that will block up your arteries and put you at increased risk for heart disease. Make sure to get up and move around to keep this from happening!

  1. More Risk for Developed Colon Cancer

Did you know that sitting around for prolonged periods of time can also increase your risk of developing colon cancer? That’s right. Because of that extra sitting around on the couch, you are going to have an excess of sugar building up that can be detrimental to your health. Make sure to get up off of the couch and eat some healthy foods that are going to ensure your health for the future.

In addition to this, you have a huge risk of developing fatty liver disease. You can work on that one by getting on a fatty liver diet.

In addition to both of those first points, your pancreas can begin to be super productive whenever you’re sitting on the couch. That’s because this inactivity can cause your pancreas to produce more insulin than ever before. This increases your chance of developing diabetes and other debilitating diseases. You might even know that you have this condition, so make sure to get up off the couch and get some exercise.

  1. You Could Get a Vague Brain

When you spend time exercising, your body is going to be busy sending blood and oxygen flowing to your brain and throughout your body. This is one of the biggest benefits that comes with exercising. This extra oxygen allows your brain to work at optimum levels and for you to keep sharp thoughts.

However, when you’re stuck as a couch potato, your body is not delivering as much blood and oxygen to your brain as when you are exercising. This means that your mind is going to vaguer than it would be if you were spending time exercising. Once you get up off of the couch, you are going to be feeling a lot sharper and you will find it much easier to think clearly.

  1. You’ll Have Regular Pain in Your Shoulders and Back Regions

When you slump forward on the couch to get a better view of the TV, you’re going to be experiencing some serious pain in your shoulders and back. This is because slumping creates a lot of pressure on these regions and causes stress that can lead to some serious problems down the road. Make sure to get up off the couch and fix your posture if you want to relieve this pain.
